What is self-storage?

Self-Storage is a relatively recent service industry in the UK. Self-Storage centres have a selection of room sizes that you can hire from a locker up to the size of a tennis court or larger, short or long term. You bring your goods or possessions to the storage centre; lock them in the room, come, and go as you please during opening hours. You are the only key holder. You can store almost anything unless it is perishable, live or flammable.

Who is Aztek Self-Storage?

Aztek has been in the storage industry for nearly 10 years, with our Self-Storage facility opening in May 2012. Our motto is to offer storage in four simple steps –

How does Self-Storage at Aztek Self-Storage work?

You can store your goods or possessions from as little as a week for as long as you need. Storage rooms can be reserved in advance to make sure the size you require is available on the day you need it. You can also easily switch to a smaller or larger room whilst in storage if you need to. Self-storage at Aztek Self Storage is flexible, secure and hassle free, in fact it could not be any easier; our one-stop-shop approach means our storage experts will deal with any problem you might have. All our people are trained to help and advise you to make sure you get the best service and value for money.

What kind of security is in Aztek Self Storage’s stores?

At Aztek, we employ the latest technology ensuring that we keep an eye on your belongings 24 hours a day 7 days a week with both our internal and external monitoring systems. Peace of mind all the time for you and your possessions.

We ensure that you possessions are protected at all times – this is why we have;

  • State of the art Naccoss approved intruder and fire alarm system throughout.
  • Individually alarmed units with your own security pass-code

Do I need my own padlock?

Yes, you need your own padlock to ensure that you are the sole key holder for your room and to ensure that your room is securely locked at all times. Aztek Self Storage stock full range of high security padlocks in all of our stores.

How much does it cost to store with Aztek Self Storage?

We have rooms from 25sq ft. to 200sq ft. Estimating the space you need is not as simple and straightforward as it looks. It depends on:

  • What you need to store
  • How stackable it is
  • How high the ceiling of the storage room is
  • Where the storage room is located in the storage centre, generally ground floor is more expensive
  • What sort of access you will need since you may want to leave a walkway through the storage room to get to your possessions.

We can advise you on how to stack your goods and possessions to make maximum use of the space..

Why are there no prices on the web?

The price is based on the space you require and estimating the space that you need isn’t as simple and straightforward as it looks. We strongly recommend giving us a call WITH NO OBLIGATION to get the right price for the right space.

What is the minimum rental period?

There is no long-term commitment. The minimum period is 7 days.

What is included in the price – are there any hidden extras?

The price you are quoted by our staff includes your storage charge and VAT. You will need a padlock to secure your room and your goods will need to be insured whilst they are in storage. A refundable security deposit equal to four weeks storage charge is payable at the commencement of storage and is refunded when you vacate your storage room.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, we normally offer a range of discounts including: pre-pay discount; discount for students; discount for online merchandise purchases. However, the offers may change store by store; offers for stores can be found on the store location page of the website. Alternatively, you can call the storage centre to find out the best deal for you.

Do I pay weekly or monthly?

We’ll invoice you on a four weekly basis, payable in advance. However, we only ask for fourteen days’ notice when you vacate your room and we refund to you any unused storage charges.

How long can I stay?

You are welcome to stay as long as you require.

How quickly can I move in?

You can move in on the same day as you make your enquiry (during office opening hours) providing that you have the relevant documentation needed to complete and sign your contract. Two forms of ID are required one of which must be a photo ID (passport or driving licence) and a utility bill less than 3 months old. Payment of a deposit and the first invoice must be made prior to moving in. Please check with the store team.

What do I need to open a contract?

What kinds of payment methods are available?

Most our customers choose to pay by direct debit. However, we accept also credit and debit cards.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, your goods must be insured whilst in storage. Aztek Self Storage offers a tailored insurance according to your needs. Please ask your store team for more details or download the Aztek Self Storage Insurance Key facts

How often can I have access to my goods?

You can come and go as you please, 7 days a week during the store opening hours.

How do I get my goods to you?

You have to bring your belongings to the storage centre. All our centres have ample car parking and large loading/unloading areas. Alternatively, we can recommend van hire with our partner Aztek Logistics at preferential rates or a local removal company to help you with your transportation.

Can I transfer to another room if I need more or less space?

You can easily move to another size room at any time, depending on your storage requirements and the availability of other room sizes in the store.

How high are your storage rooms?

Depending upon the Aztek Self Storage store you choose the rooms range from 7 to 9ft in height.

Do you have trolleys or fork lifts available?

We have trolleys and pallet trucks available free of charge for customers use. We also have forklifts available which can be operated by a member of staff.

Do you offer storage for business?

Yes, we offer flexible contracts for short or long term Self Storage. There is no minimum stay. We guarantee our business customers will have fixed prices for a minimum of 12 months. Great business rates available. Please contact the storage centre for details.

What if I have reserved and my plans are delayed?

That is no problem just let us know about the changes and we will extend your reservation.

Can I reserve online?

This facility is not available yet. However, you can reserve a unit by calling the self-storage centre directly.
